Historic Victoria Advertisements
Buildings

As part of our series on Historic Victoria Advertisements, Buildings, here are two 1909 advertisements from the Royal Bank of Canada about its “New Premises” being built at 1108 Government Street. That building is now Munro’s Books.

The first advertisement notes that the Royal Bank of Canada will occupy its “New Premises At Present being Erected In Government Street” on 1 April 1909.

The second 1909 advertisement is an architect’s drawing, likely by architect Thomas Hooper, showing the new Royal Bank of Canada building at 1108 Government Street.
