As part of our series on Historic Advertisements – Music – 1900-1909, here is a 1909 advertisement for Edison Amberol recordings of Scottish singer Harry Lauder (in 1919 he became Sir Harry Lauder), sold at M.W. Waitt & Company, which was located in the Vernon Block, 1000-1002 Government Street.

Marshall Wilder Waite (died 1892) is buried in Ross Bay Cemetery. In 1909 M.W. Waitt & Company was managed by M.W. Waitt’s son in law, Herbert Kent.
