Henry Holdsby Simmonds (1883-1954) was a Vancouver based architect who specialized in theatres. Here is a partial list of his projects.
We only know of one Henry Simmonds project in Victoria: the Odeon Theatre, 780 Yates Street, which is listed on the Canadian Register of Historic Places as an outstanding example of Streamline Moderne design.
For anyone interested in more information on Victoria architects and architecture up to 1950, we recommend Building The West: The Early Architects of British Columbia, edited by Donald Luxton
