As we develop this website, we will put up links to some historic photos of Victoria by Duncan Macphail with shots of those locations today and links to the pages we are developing about those locations.

Duncan Macphail was a commercial photographer in Victoria from the late 1930’s to the early 1950’s. In 1970 he donated many of his photographic files to the BC Provincial Archives.

The Duncan Macphail collection in the BC Archives includes many interesting photographs of Victoria during the period from the late 1930’s to the early 1950’s.

Our Duncan Macphail photo for this post is a 1945 image of 1600-1602 Quadra Street, which was then the First Baptist Church.
