A Brief History of 1803 Quadra Street

1803 Quadra Street was built in 1932 by architect C. Elwood Watkins as a business location for Sand’s Funeral Chapel, which still occupies the building today.

Sand’s had moved here from its previous location two blocks south at 1612 Quadra Street.

An addition was made to the building in 1953 to the design of architect David Cowper Frame.

1612 Quadra Street was built in 1912 by Sand’s Funeral Chapel, which used it as its business location until it moved to 1803 Quadra Street in 1932.
