3225 Beach Drive was designed by architect John Di Castri in 1959 and built by Farmer Construction. John Di Castri also designed additions to the house in 1969 and 1993. The house was originally built for John A. Achtem.
In 2008, this house was listed on the Canadian Register of Historic Places, which considers it a notable example of modernist architecture.
