1526 Beach Drive was designed and built in 1939 by contractor C.S. Partridge for Matilda Haynes who, with her husband Arthur Haynes, had owned and lived in the adjacent house at 1512 Beach Drive. Matilda Haynes called the house Haynes Cottage.

It has always been a single family residential property.
